About Emma
Getting to know Emma
The Calm, Clear, Velvety, Soothing Voice
I’m an experienced Pro British Female Voice Over Artist of 13 years, Storyteller and One Voice Awards Nominee and twice Woman Who Business Awards Finalist (Media, Community) recording from my Professional Studio in Hereford – where the river runs and my voice flows.
Originally from The Midlands, UK I have a neutral English accent with natural warmth and calmness. My voice is described in essence as eloquent, calm, empathetic and re-assuring, warm, soothing, relaxing and inviting. People often say how re-assuring my voice is when talking to them and I’m frequently asked for my calming, warmer tones to voice Well-being Relaxation Therapy, Guided Meditation and Mindfulness helping to feel in that Zen Zone. It’s a relaxing experience!
An important factor to why I am called upon frequently to record Voice Over work in the Mental Health, Well-being, Healthcare and Educational sectors is because I’m experienced in using my calming, empathetic, re-assuring and soothing voice every week in my voluntary role as a trained Emotional Support Listening Volunteer with a national charitable organisation.
So, I know first hand how effective soft calming tones and a slower pace can help soothe a caller when they may be struggling with their mental health or experiencing anxiety and panic attacks. I have also recorded Sleep Stories for #1 Well-being App Calm. So, I can even send you pleasantly snoozing into the land of nod.
Versatile Voice
Away from the calmer voice I bring a more informational, and friendly voice to your projects for Marketing Videos, Explainers, Recruitment videos, Pitch Decks, Podcast Intro’s, Web Films, Apps, Commercials, Voice Mail and for E-Learning Modules and Medical Narration I eloquently voice with a pleasant informative and authoritative style.
I love getting to play when voicing characters from a high pitched mouse to a dangerous American accented gangster or a Birmingham accented woman out on the town to an Australian Kangaroo for children’s audiobooks, animal characters, short stories and animation plus other seasonal characters – halloween is a firm favourite with witches and zombies!
Having written and recorded my own original song….. How Do You Feel? (Tell Me This) – which can be heard on my YouTube channel, I can sing a jingle or provide a spoken word element for your own songs… so I offer a wide variety of vocal services.
My Studio
My professional studio is hub of calm with soothing music, aromatherapy diffusers and candles. I love being there for whatever creative projects I’m working on…… voicing mindfulness, reading a corporate script in the vocal booth, mental health volunteer support work, songwriting or singing my heart out as music really activates my mood.
Listening in VO is as important as speech itself and listening to you – the client. It’s this attention, patience and understanding that allows me to actually hear what you need and capture it in a single session.
So, Why Use A Voice Over Artist?
Nothing can replace the human Voice Over for its naturalness, tonality, adaptability, real emotion and client connection. A silent film presentation doesn’t fully impact and by using a Voice Over eLearning modules are far more effective to assist the online learning experience.
As your media project takes shape booking a Voice Over will help drive home your campaign bringing your words to life using varying tones, pitches and pace. Tonality sets the emotional context for our words and shapes how others interpret our message by conveying meaning, establishing a rapport and influencing others’ perceptions.
A Voice Over influences positively playing a crucial role in effective communication. This ultimately benefits your project when delivered to your clients.

Before VO
I trained in LAMDA Speech and Elocution for several years in Birmingham working on speech, drama, poetry and the spoken word gaining bronze and silver medals for performance and receiving The Bolton King Acting Award at Birmingham’s Old Rep Theatre plus The Acting Award at Northfield Festival Of Music and Speech.
Following on from this I immersed myself in Theatre Workshops, narrating theatre productions, covering improv, mask acting…. (literally the only time I haven’t talked!) singing. All of which has illuminated my Voice Over career.
Working In The Corporate World
Previously working in the Corporate world in The Midlands as PR for McCanns Advertising & PR Agency and also Marketing for Birmingham’s Price Waterhouse Coopers and law firm Wragge & Co were hugely enlightening. The time spent in business helped me discover my love of Corporate Voiceover Work. My VO work often means working alone so I like to get and about and attend a variety of business networking events and expo’s so I can meet new contacts whilst gaining an insight into their work.
I looking forward to working with you and bringing your project to life.
